On Anna Maria Island, it’s easy to find a beach to call your own. When you stay at Anna Maria Island Inn, all our locations are either beachfront or within an easy 2-minute walk to a beach access point! 

If you’re feeling like exploring beyond your hotel room, here is Our Local Beach Guide to share our local insights and take the guesswork out of finding the island’s most popular beach spots. Tip: grab your beach bag and hop on the free Trolley to avoid any parking headaches, there are stops all along Gulf Drive.

Coquina Beach

Located at the southernmost part of Anna Maria Island, just before the bridge to Longboat Key, you’ll find Coquina Beach. This large beach park is a great choice for an all-day beach destination as it has many amenities like free parking (get there early!), restrooms, a café, bike racks and bbq grills at the picnic areas. There is a lifeguard on duty daily at this beach.

It’s also one of the more beautifully natural Florida beaches you can visit on AMI with opportunities to view seabirds and manatees, or you go further into nature and use the trail for walking or biking. During the cooler months you can stroll through the Beach Market at Coquina Beach to see works from local artists and find a treasure or two to take home with you.

Manatee Public Beach

The most popular beach park on Anna Maria Island, Manatee Public Beach is centrally located in Holmes Beach. It features limited free parking, picnic tables and grills, volleyball nets, concessions from the always delicious Anna Maria Island Beach Café, restrooms, and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. There is a lifeguard on duty daily, and this beach is great for swimming in the clear Gulf of Mexico water. 

This beach is our go-to stop for sunsets, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by the pastel colored sky as well as locals and other visitors trying to catch a glimpse of the elusive Green Flash.

Bean Point Beach

Located at the northernmost point of Anna Maria Island – public access walkway is at the crossroad of North Bay Blvd and N Shore Dr.

A must-see while you are visiting Anna Maria Island, Beach Point Beach is an incredibly pristine beach destination, with breathtaking views of the Intercoastal waterway and Gulf of Mexico and wildlife to enjoy. This beach wraps around the top of the Island and has the bright, soft white sand and crystal clear water are what we are famous for! Things to note: the currents here are very strong, so swimming is not encouraged and there is not a lifeguard on duty. There are also no onsite visitor restrooms.

Nearby street Parking is very limited, be sure to follow all posted signs as visitors will be ticketed for any violations. The closest stop for the free Trolley is about a mile away, so come prepared to walk a bit. It is absolutely worth the effort to experience this natural beauty.

Anna Maria Bayfront Park

On the northern side of the Island you’ll find Anna Maria Bayfront Park with its great views of the Sunshine Skyway, easy parking, and a nice stretch of beach to enjoy. This is a great spot for families, paddleboarding, and picnics with onsite restrooms and easy parking.
